“When I’m not working, I enjoy practicing yoga and taking care of my house plants — though to be honest, I tend to over-water them. You’ll also find me regularly on the hunt for the best dim sum in Orange County.”
International travel tops her bucket list.
“I would love to pet the Shetland ponies in Scotland and go ziplining through a rainforest. The chance to live down the street from my best friends is also high on my list.”
Her grandmother is her icon.
“My grandma has been my biggest role model. She survived World War II and the Communist Revolution in China and raised four children amidst socioeconomic upheaval. But through it all, she remained kind and hopeful. Her gentle strength is a force to be reckoned with, and I hope to emulate her tenacity and grace.”
The piece of advice she lives by.
“Integrity is priceless.”
A volunteering opportunity inspired her to become a doctor.
“Growing up, I enjoyed most subjects in school — besides gym class — and earned good grades, but I was never passionate about any particular path. That changed during college when I volunteered at a homeless health clinic. It was the first time I encountered real human suffering, and I was confronted with each patient’s tremendous need to be seen, heard and comforted. The experience gave me a sense of purpose I hadn’t felt before.
I have carried the weight and privilege of that purpose throughout the many years of training and now into my practice. My 18-year-old self realized the best part of being a doctor is the ability to forge connections with patients, and I have done my best to always remember that.”
She is energized by her patients’ strength.
“The way that patients and their families place their trust in me is a privilege I do not take lightly. I am inspired by the fortitude and strength my patients exhibit daily.
I am also grateful to be surrounded by a team of people who care passionately about patients and work tirelessly to advance their welfare.”
