Craniocervical Tumors

We offer patient-centered care to treat craniocervical tumors, including bone cancer in your neck and spine.

Specialized Care for Craniocervical Tumors

Craniocervical tumors develop where your skull and neck meet, particularly in the back of your neck.

This area of your neck includes the brain stem (lower part of your brain), which connects to your spine, along with many nerves and blood vessels. Tumors here can put pressure on your brain, spine and nerves. They can cause weakness, numbness and movement difficulties.

Craniocervical tumor symptoms can include headaches and neck pain. You may feel signs your spinal cord is being compressed, such as:

  • Burning pain in your backside or down your arms or legs
  • Cramping, numbness and coordination problems in your hands
  • Loss of feeling in your feet
  • Neck pain or stiffness

We offer expert care for all types of craniocervical tumors. You get a personalized treatment plan designed to give you relief from symptoms and help you feel better as quickly as possible.

Trusted Spine Tumor Expertise

You benefit from a team of experts in spine and skull base surgery, neurosurgery, cancer and neuroradiology to ensure you get complete treatment.

We specialize in minimally invasive treatments that offer less pain and scarring and a faster recovery. These options include a surgical approach performed through your nose and radiosurgery (targeted radiation therapy).

As a National Cancer Institute (NCI)–designated comprehensive cancer center, we offer leading-edge care for bone cancer in your neck or spine, with clinical trials and innovative therapies.

We’re recognized as a Blue Distinction Center by Blue Cross Blue Shield for delivering quality spine surgery care.
