At the USC Small Bowel Center, our gastroenterologists are experts in enteroscopy — small intestine biopsy — to diagnose and treat disorders of the small intestine. Using this sophisticated, minimally invasive approach, we help patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions, including celiac disease, enterocutaneous fistula, gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal polyposis syndromes, irritable bowel syndrome, J-pouch dysfunction, short bowel syndrome and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). We perform a wide range of noninvasive enteroscopic procedures to comprehensively examine the small bowel and/or obtain tissue samples, including:

• Capsule enteroscopy in which the patient swallows a capsule containing a small camera to document the digestive tract
• Device-assisted total enteroscopy
