June Choe, MD, specializes in caring for patients with injuries and conditions impacting their respiratory system. As a board-certified pulmonary critical care physician, he commonly treats obstructive lung diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), upper airway disorders and chronic coughs.
Dr. Choe is active in research efforts to continuously enhance care techniques to give patients the best outcomes possible. His work centers on e-cigarette and vaping use–associated lung injury (EVALI), tuberculosis infections and improving treatments for blood clots. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and Dr. Choe is regularly invited to discuss his findings at national and international meetings.
He is also passionate about medical education and helping to train the next generation of physicians. In addition to his clinical and research responsibilities, Dr. Choe serves as an assistant clinical professor of pulmonary critical care medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He is also involved with professional organizations including the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians.
Outside of work, Dr. Choe enjoys spending time with his wife, running, hiking, reading, cooking and watching movies.
