Dr. Demetriades is a tenured Professor of Surgery, Keck USC School of Medicine and the Director of the USC Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery and Surgical Intensive Care Unit. He has published more than 640 peer-reviewed publications in referenced journals, two trauma atlas books, 6 books, and more than 140 book chapters. In 2011, he was honored by the American College of Surgeons and delivered the Scudder Oration. In 2013, he was honored by the American Heart Association with Lifetime Achievement Award in Trauma Resuscitation Science. In 2014, he was honored with the Distinguished Service award by the FDA. In 2015, he was elected in the “1000 Top Scientists” by the Republic of China. In 2016-201, he served as the Vice President and a member of the Executive Board of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma. He is an Honorary member of numerous national societies in many countries and sits on the editorial boards of numerous journals.
